Lead is a highly toxic metal that was used for many years in products found in and around our homes.
In 1978 the federal government banned lead-based paint from housing because in many cases lead caused a range of health effects,from behavioral problems and learning disabilities, to seizures and even death in children under the age of 6 years old.
Deteriorated lead based paint should be addressed by a qualified inspector to identify potential hazards to the occupants of the building.
It is becoming a major issue in the Construction Industry.
